Named for Wilhelm "Will" Kleber (15 December 1906 - 27 August 1970), a German mineralogist, crystallographer and petrologist, Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany. The mineral name was originally published without IMA approval, but the species was finally officially approved in 2012.
